I'm a Grisham contrarian.
his legal thrillers are of uneven quality (IMHO)... some are bearable. others seem more useful as doorstops.
but his short fiction?
well I dunno... why don't people like this book?
short, cogent, realistic
powerful, evocative, dynamic
descriptive, complex, fast-paced
my money is on this book surviving 200 years, the legal thrillers being forgotten by 2060.
