The Things They Carried

The Things They Carried - Tim O'Brien spoken about in reverent tones, the 1990 short story anthology/collection repeats itself several times, and ends up discussing over and over "is this really true? or is this non-fiction?"

does contain moments of brilliance; there are some hemingwayesque passages, but what would be two or three absolutely great short stories ends up as a book being drawn out.

work gets progressively worse.

and obviously, if a girl really joined the special forces, that would be amazing, but if it's just fiction, then it's some stupid daydream
