The Lover

The Lover - Marguerite Duras, Barbara Bray over-wrought in places, and perhaps not the "life-changing" book some of its intense fans make it out to be, Marguerite Duras' memoirish roman a clef or whatever it is of her childhood in indochina with her older chinese lover contains a fuzzy-focus romanticism about asia, but nevertheless suceeds in holding the reader's attention and contains a crisp, firm structure. sort of like crisp, firm french girls' bodies. yikes.
