Fatherland

Fatherland - Robert Harris at time of writing a clear four-star, with all the changes the world has experienced since 1993, seems more and more a quaint piece of historica.

premise: Germany wins WW2. the emotional thrust of the story is 'uncovering the truth about the Holocaust.'

I may look this work up again on ibooks, maybe not

kinda a rewrite of SS-GB by Len Deighton.

the american reporter and the german civil police officer are racing to uncover disturbing rumors... while Joseph Kennedy prepares to detente with Adolf Hitler.

in this world, Nazi Germany has nuclear weapons. Russia has been reduced to a few slavic bands carrying on a guerrilla war in the east.

sort of a more realistic scenario than SS-GB.
