The Life and Times of Michael K

Life and Times of Michael K - J.M. Coetzee isn't this a Liberal Guilt Novel? Coetzee imagines--and believably so--what an illiterate good-natured black South African day laborer/agriculturist has to go through, but the result is the glorification of a human being I'm not sure I would necessarily commit much time to if I met IRL. yes, i believe there are good people getting crushed every day. but I dunno about the operation food drop / peace studies / world food organization that is so dedicated to this ethos and mentality.

wouldn't Michael K just be better off if somebody bought him a handgun and a few bullets?

I'm totallly serious
