Under the Banner of Heaven

Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith - Jon Krakauer competent writing by a master stylist, but whereas [b:Into Thin Air|1898|Into Thin Air A Personal Account of the Mt. Everest Disaster|Jon Krakauer|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1320529390s/1898.jpg|1816662] was gripping and arguably, couldn't lose a word, Krakauer fails to elicit the outrage and sense of astonishment that his mountaineering books succeed in. yes, Mormons are somewhat right-wing, clean-scrubbed, marked by scandal, but what Christian group isn't?

not terrible, but definitely more than a 3/5. all-in-all, with 5/5 for mountaineering books and 3/5 for these sorts of things, Krakauer may well be a 4star writer
